The importance of developing fitness programs for kids and
adults with special needs is extremely important. The struggle to
maintain a healthy lifestyle for the general population is
challenging enough. We need to recognize these special individuals
and realize that many cannot do it without our help. Through this
program, I hope to educate those willing to learn, encourage a new
direction for trainers and open all of our eyes to the importance
of working with these individuals who have truly touched my
heart
Our Vision: To provide group and/or
individual physical fitness training for children and adults with
special needs.
- to further develop fitness programs with strong emphasis on
play that can be implemented into their daily routine.
- To educate
those willing to learn, encourage a new direction for trainers and
open all of our eyes to the importance of working with these
special individuals.
Benefits: The implementation of physical
activity for children and adults with special needs has numerous
benefits:
- Allows for release of positive and or negative energy resulting
in productive output
- Builds self-esteem
- Improves social interaction
- Improves focus and function of daily living skills
- Weight loss
- Reduction of anxiety
- Have fun while getting fit
- Less work for parents and staff (maybe)
Current Programs: All current programs
are speciaiized and customized for each individual/group depending
on their needs. I will work with the family, residential staff,
special education staff and therapists to determine the fitness
activities best suited for the individual or group. The secret to
the success of any fitness program is to have fun and be
consistent.
